Web Developer

Haan Marketing + Communications, a Lafayette-based marketing communications firm, has a full-time Web Developer position available for a talented graduate with a CGT or web-related Computer Science degree. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates with a real passion for the internet.

The primary responsibilities of the Web Developer include programming and implementation of assigned websites; secondary responsibilities include website visioning, strategy, and design. Working with the creative director, creative staff and agency clients, the Web Developer will assist in the creation of branded, multi-media web experiences, development of web tools and other emerging technologies.

Qualifications

Some essential functions include:

  • Undertake website planning, visioning, analysis and estimating
  • Perform website graphic design, layout and asset management functions
  • Present strategic and creative products and services to clients.
  • Perform web programming, implementation and site maintenance functions
  • Prioritize and organize multiple, simultaneous projects under time constraints
  • Clearly communicate ideas in an easy to understand language

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • BS in Computer Graphics or web-related Computer Sciences/Technology field
  • Demonstrated capabilities in and passion for web development (i.e. portfolio website,internships, clubs/organizations, active involvement in web community, etc.)

Proficiencies in:

  • PHP (preferred), JSP/ASP.NET
  • Excellent XHTML and CSS coding/layout skills
  • Database (MySQL, PostgreSQL)
  • Javascript (jQuery, Prototype, Yahoo! UI)
  • CMS – Drupal (preferred), Joomla!, or other acceptable
  • MVC (CakePHP, CodeIgnitor, Symfony)
  • Adobe Creative Suite 3 or higher
  • Strong organization and problem solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team

Additional Skills:

The ideal candidate may also have:

  • Software programming and/or SaaS development experience
  • Strong abilities in Flash and ActionScript
